Cadwyn Mon Report 2011-2017 ENG - page 3

Volunteers
“Following the death of
my mother, my father was
in deep grief, and I felt that
mixing with other possibly like-
minded
people would help him
.
After taking him to a couple of
meetings I felt that becoming
a
volunteer
could possibly
help me too!”
“I was at an all-
time low having lost
a few of my relatives in a
short space of time. I needed
to do something positive
to overcome my own grief.
Thankfully volunteering was
the
best thing I could
have done.
“Volunteering has
certainly confirmed to me
that Health and Social Care is
the area I would like to work in.
Cadwyn Môn has
inspired me
and
improved my confidence
. My
current employment is not as
fulfilling as my volunteering
work.”
“Since I became
a volunteer I
have noticed my
confidence around
new people
has
improved.”
“I would not have
had the confidence
to meet
new people
socially before
volunteering.”
“I have found so
many new friends
through volunteering
and enjoy being part
of the team.”
“I worry less
about driving to
places I don’t know,
which is a
nice
feeling
.”
